Much of South Carolina was spared the worst of winds and flooding from Hurricane Ian, but many residents need immediate help and untold others may yet require assistance from UMCSC Disaster Response. Conference volunteers have already delivered more than 280 cleaning buckets and hundreds of hygiene kits to churches in the Marion District, where much of the impact of the storm was felt. This depleted the on-hand inventory.

What’s next? If you’d like to assemble and donate more of the much-needed supplies on your own, here are instructions:

Cleaning Bucket Assembly Instructions

Hygiene Kit Assembly Instructions

Menstrual Hygiene Kit Instructions

Once your buckets and kits are ready to go, please bring them to either the Bluffton campus on Sundays, to the Hilton Head campus on Sundays, or to the HH church office during the week.

Important note: Buckets and kits must be complete, based on the UMCOR instructions linked above. Incomplete supplies will not be accepted.

How to give: The best way to help immediately is to donate money. We recommend two effective ways to give:

United Methodist Committee on Relief

South Carolina Conference Disaster Response
