The 40 days of Lent are the ideal time to do acts of kindness for church family, friends, neighbors and strangers as an offering, a sacrifice to God during this season…a Lenten love challenge, if you will.
Google “acts of kindness” and you will find hundreds of ideas of how to show God’s love to someone. It could be cookies for the neighbors, a donation in someone’s name, buying coffee for the person in line behind you…you probably already have some great ideas. If you’d like to leave an anonymous note for someone, send an encouraging scripture or message, or leave a recipe with the casserole you dropped off, feel free to use the note card or postcard PDFs below. We also have them in the church office during the week.
Then the best part — tell us your stories. What did you do? What happened? What did God teach you through this? We want to hear and celebrate with you how God’s love was shared in our world and community and how it impacted your life, too.
Email your stories to firstname.lastname@example.org before Easter and we’ll compile an anonymous list of what our church family did in the name of Christ as an encouragement to us all.
May this Lenten season be a blessing to others and you as we focus on Jesus’ love and sacrifice for all of us.
