Nursery

Mission: Our children’s ministry seeks to provide an open and nurturing environment, while partnering with parents and other caring adults, in guiding youth and children to be disciples of Christ

All children are welcome to worship with us at St. Andrew By-The-Sea.  Here at SABTS, not only do our children get a sense of belonging, but they learn who and whose they are as God’s love is experienced through caring adults who want to share their faith with others. We encourage parents to set priorities for assuring this education of their children just as they would for math or reading.   Click here for Seasonal Celebrations.

For the protection of our children, youth, and adults that work with them, St. Andrew follows Safe Sanctuaries guidelines. Click here for more information.

Below you’ll find some of our programming options at both campuses during “normal” times prior to the pandemic.

Hilton Head Campus

Our Children’s Sermon Time is a special part of our worship experience every Sunday. Children are invited to join in the Children’s Sermon during the 11:15 hour during the summer.  Worship packets are provided in the Narthex for all children to use during the service to help them better understand worship by engaging them in fun puzzles, coloring, and other activities.

For the safety and protection of your children, we ask that parents check in their child in the narthex or the lobby of the Education Building before proceeding to worship.  Your child will receive a name-tag and the parent receives a receipt, which is required for pick up. Please make us aware of any allergy information while checking your child in.

DiscipleShip on Sundays at 10:15 (Sunday School) in the Fall

During DiscipleShip,  children will embark on a faith-voyage that will allow them to explore different cultures as they grown in their faith. Using the Deep Blue Learn and Serve curriculum, children will explore places like Guatemala, Kenya and Alaska while learning how to be faithful disciples both in their local community and the world through songs, games, crafts and more. Children also become part of the FriendShip choir as we learn fun faith songs pertaining to the Bible story each week.

Classes are divided by nursery care through age 2, preschool (ages 3-4) and elementary (K-5).

Lighthouse Kids (during 11:15am worship) in the Fall

Children ages 4 – grade 5 will be dismissed from the Children’s Sermon Time during the 11:15 am WorShip Service and go to the Lighthouse Loop (in the Education Building) to jump into Deep Blue Kids Church.  Each month, lessons will focus on a different character traits, such as Loving Kindness and Wisdom and each week a new worship practice will be incorporated into the lesson.  Children will love learning how to praise God in many different ways.  Lighthouse Kids is formerly Children’s Church
